This place suits me perfectly! Free wi-fi, an inviting bar, and friendly staff who once helped with my suitcases. I recommend trying the delicious food. I'm coming back for Christmas!

The hotel's location was particularly good in a quiet area which is lovely at night. The staff was outstandingly accommodating. The breakfasts here were super and lovely with fruit juice, toast and cheap bread for toast.

A loverly period Inn positioned well in Barnard Castle. Very large bed which was very comforatble. Staff helpful and very friendly - would stay here again.
Bathroom could do with a refurb but otherwise a very pleasant stay.

Excellent staff nothing to much trouble, nice not to be in in a modern plastic pub, loved the low ceilings and creaky floors. Understand it is changing hands hope they do not change anything.

Good staff, beer choice, location and food, rooms were spacious, beds comfy, although a decent shower for me is a minimum and the electric shower in the room was a bit disappointing. Notwithstanding, this does not discredit the overall good time we had here and the owners and staff should be pleased with what they provide.

Beautiful and historical stay
We enjoyed a lovely night at this historic inn with charming decor and a spacious room equipped with a comfy four-poster bed, along with attentive staff who provided a warm welcome. The breakfast was freshly cooked and delicious, setting us up nicely for the day. One thing to improve would be the payment process, as using the app for orders can be cumbersome and takes time.

I loved the amazing Indian thali, which had generous portions and was bursting with flavor. The melt-in-your-mouth paratha. The vibe was great with live music, and the kids had a blast in the play area. The only hitch was that the place felt a bit worn around the edges, but it didn't take away from the overall experience-definitely try the food! 😋

The position is fantastic. Breakfast was amazing with friendly staff who provided great service. The fish and chips we ordered for lunch were cooked to perfection, and everything was served hot. We'll definitely return on our next visit!
